Omaka Heritage Aviation Center in Blenheim area with a fabulous display of WWI planes.
This is an amazing story about a New Zealand pilot who's tail was shot by the Germans. He managed to land the plane by balancing on the wing and steering to land it! The British didn't allow their pilots to have parachutes because they thought more planes would be wasted if the pilots bailed out! Better information on the next picture!
Plane ride out of Marlborough, FIELDS of vineyards, sort of like seeing our fields of corn in Nebraska!
Another picture from the airplane....We are arriving in the Mt. Cook area. This is Pukaki Glacier Lake.
Quick stop for some lavender ice cream in the lavender field!
Views from our lodge. We are staying at MT. Cook Lakeside Retreat.

Love the poppies! And the lavender fields!
