Goodbye Australia!

  1. I couldn't leave without trying their famous breakfast & snack food. Vegemite: a type of savory spread made from concentrated yeast extract.



Our tour guide advised us to use LOTS of butter & just a "smear" of vegemite. 
I think you need to acquire a taste for it!


This is another iconic Australian treat, but we didn't have the opportunity to try.  It is: an Australian meat pie topped with mashed potato, mushy peas and gravy; it was named after the pie cart's founder Harry "Tiger" Edwards. Our tour driver said they are the best after a good bar crawl!

Home Sweet Home!

We got home on Thursday, February 23rd close to midnight. It was -3 degrees in NE, but  my orchids were blooming and yes...it is HOME SWEET ...
